Using Live Conversation

Using Live Conversation

Learn how to effectively conduct customer interviews with UserTesting's powerful live interview tool.

About this course

In this course, we focus on best practices for getting the most value out of your Live Conversation interview sessions.

Live Conversation provides you the ability to schedule live sessions with participants from the UserTesting panel or participants you identify (via MyRecruit). The recordings of these sessions are automatically uploaded into your dashboard, where you can view, annotate, and clip them, just as you would any session recording.

Conducting a Live Conversation interview can be most useful when:

  • You need a back-and-forth dialogue with your participant to deeply understand their perspectives and needs
  • Participants are interacting with designs that are complex and you want to put them back on track if they stray away from core tasks
  • Your designs are only available locally on the moderator's machine

Use Live Conversation when you want to speak one-on-one with a customer: ask questions, share screens, go to a website or an app, or share something on your own device.  These interviews are free-form and flexible, and you can conduct them at any stage of a project.
