Learn how to instruct participants to turn on their cameras
In this course, we walk through how to instruct participants to turn on their cameras during recorded tests.
Note that during Live Conversations sessions, the participant's camera will be turned on by default.
In certain situations, it may make sense to capture the participants’ face or their environment during a recorded test.
For example, you may want to see the participant’s environment in order to:
- Understand their working conditions
- See the location of particular items, such as their TV, smartspeaker, or thermostat
- Allow them to show you some tool they use to accomplish a specific task.
Additionally, you may want to see the participant’s face during an unmoderated interview because you do not need them to be interacting with a website or app while they are answering your interview questions.
